Facebook update [pic] from Help Anton

Day +44 We have some good news. Dr. Wagner doesn't think Anton has a bone marrow infection but he thinks that when they did the bone marrow biopsy that the pseudomonas was on his skin and the sample got compromised. Anton tested positive for a neutrophil antibody which means that he has an antibody that is attacking his neutrophils. They are going to treat him for this and this is what Dr. Wagner thinks is the cause of Anton not being able to maintain his counts. He could still have a bacteria in his bone marrow but the chances are small. They are still treating Anton with the antibiotics that they would for the infection so whether he has it or not he is covered. They also did another blood engraftment study and he is still 100% donor for his T-Cells!!! They also tested his bone marrow to see how many cells are in it. Normally they would be happy with it being 1o% full of cells but Anton's marrow is 50 to 60 % full of cells which they said is pretty amazing for 44 days post transplant! SO happy about all of this news and so thankful for his doctors being so diligent with his care!!! via Help Anton http://ift.tt/1zSYS6I May 09, 2015 at 11:01AM
