Facebook update from Help Anton

Day 3 of work up: Today Anton had a GFR test done. This measures the function of the kidneys. They place an IV and inject radioactive liquid then draw blood every 40 minutes to see how well his kidneys flush out the fluid. I was nervous about this test because we normally can't get his ivs to draw blood but we had no issues getting the IV placed and no issues with it drawing blood. This test takes about 4.5 hours so during that time we also saw nutrition, the bmt nurse who explained the whole process and time line, we met with the team that will be placing Anton's central line and I think that's it. They were giving away teddy bears when we were getting ready to leave the hospital and Anton was very happy to get one :) Anton was in a great mood for his appointments today and overall we had a great day. While I was at the hospital we got a call from the Ronald McDonald house saying our room would be ready on MONDAY and it is the bigger room so once we get there we won't have to move rooms! This was such a HUGE relief! - March 12, 2015 at 02:24PM http://ift.tt/1r2lUi4
